MINUTES OF THE MEETING     

   

Susan Allmeroth, President, called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM

12 members present

 

MINUTES REVIEW

Review of the January minutes.

MOTION to accept was made by Becky Cummings, seconded by Gidget Hagan .  No objections.

FINANCIAL REPORT:   Financial report presented. 

 

STANDING COMMITTEES REPORT

o  Sponsorship:  Susan Allmeroth reported that Denali State Bank has become a sponsor. Val Mackler is giving a presentation for Golden Hour hosted by Denali State Bank. This is a senior citizen event.   

o  Public Relations:  No report.

o  Trail:  Jason Weitzel reported work has been started on the trail into Two Rivers Lodge. He is requesting assistance with trail maintenance and putting in the Chatanika Trail.

o  Race: Permits were not established. Becky Cummings is working on getting necessary permits for races.

o  Benevolent: No report.

OLD BUSINESS

o  Hamburger Run:  Val Mackler reported that there was a decent turn-out for the Hamburger Run, it was a fun successful run.  Cold Spot Feeds and The What Not Shop provided all the prizes.

o  Tent:  Susan Allmeroth reported a fly is needed for purchase for the tent as well as a stove. She will purchase fly and research prices for the stove.

o  MUSH with Pride:  Susan Allmeroth is working on purchasing a club membership.

o  Snow Machine: Machine is in at Borough for maintenance.

o  Straw: Straw has been purchased for the 200 and delivered.

 

NEW BUSINESS

Two Rivers 200:  Jason Weitzel reported that the draw meeting will be at Two Rivers Lodge, buffet price is to be determined soon; finish banquet will be also at Two Rivers Lodge, tickets are $30 each.  Remaining details to be discussed at next planning meeting. Volunteers are needed, contact Susan Allmeroth or Val Mackler. Jason Weitzel has locked in dates with Pleasant Valley Store, Chatanika Lodge, and Angel Creek Lodge.

Frosty Dog:  Angel Creek Lodge is hosted the finish banquet. Annette is working with Jason Weitzel on prices. Jason Weitzel has locked in dates with Pleasant Valley Store, Two Rivers Lodge, and Angel Creek Lodge. Mike Green is looking for volunteers.

Tent:  Tent set up party is needed. Susan Allmeroth will call for help setting up the tent during warm spell.

Trail Help: Jason Weitzel is requesting help with trail maintenance.

 

MEMBER COMMENTS

 

Charlotte Davis discussed borough trail meeting information. Requesting input on trail etiquette signs. Still need to finish putting in a few trails in the Two Rivers Recreation Area so the borough can GPS them.  

 Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm, next meeting will be on March 3, 2009, at the Nazarene Church at 7:30pm.
