NEW BOARD ELECTED

Another racing season has come and gone which means a new board has stepped on the runners of the club, or I guess you could really say a “PARTIAL BOARD” . I am yournew President and Becky Cummings has agreed to stay on as Treasurer. Throughout the summer months we will be trying to recruit additonal members of the club to fill the other two seats. If you would like to help out with the club, or know someone who could contribute time, email me at akalex1@att.net or call me at 457-4549 hm 322-2115 cell.

Becky Alexander, President

TWO RIVERS 200

We successfully started 17 mushers out of Chatanika to begin what was one of the best 200 milers we have had. The weather cooperated, the trails were good, the Northern Lights were out, and we had an awesome field of mushers. Thanks to all of the sponsors, volunteersand mushers that continue to make this race a success for our club. Race results at trdma.org

Committees

We will be appointing Chairmans and forming committees for the upcoming 2009-2010 season at the May meeting. If you would like to be a part of the decision making forrace dates, rules, trails, etc., then this is where you can make your voice heard.

SPONSORS

At this time, we would like to thank all sponsors that helped support our club throughout the 2008-2009 season. Check out our sponsor list--- trdma.org

VALLEY FUNALE

Although the day started out snowy and overcast, it became apparent that the kids didn.tmind one bit. By 10 am the sun was shinning and we had a glorious day for this event. Attendance was low on the adult racers but when it came to the 1 and 2 dog event, we had 37 mushers. to launch around the track. Around 800 Easter eggs were hidden, 250 burgers and 150 hotdogs grilled, and enough potluck food on the table that no one went hungry. Speaking of hungry...Val Mackler baited the dog food for the hungry dog contest with chicken broth. This enticed the mutts to gobble even faster. For complete results on the races, go to trdma.org

A SPECIAL THANKS TO...

Susan Allmeroth and Stephanie Ehlenfeldt for taking control of TRDMA to finish out the 2008-2009 season. You both did a GREAT JOB!!!!

WE SUPPORT OTHERS

This year TRDMA donated $2.00 for all adult entries in the Valley Funale Race to THE SLED DOG FUND, Inc. This is an organization that uses racing sled dogs to promote awareness and raise funding for the support of children with special needs and their families: www.sleddogfund.org

All the proceeds from the kids races and monies donated to the picnic are being presented to the Two Rivers Elementary School to help fund their climbing wall. For more info or to donate to this endeaver, call the school at 488-6616.

Next meeting is May 5th 7:30pm at the Nazarene Church 13 mile CHSR

All trail stakes need to be in the borough building beside the Two Rivers ball field by May 1st for inventory.
